In previous lessons students have studied different narrative tenses. In future lessons they will be asked to co-construct and later write their own stories.

There are 25 students in the class, aged between 17 and 20 (18 female, 20 male)

SSS <-> SSS (SSS is a symbol for small group of students).

Students will write stories in small groups (story circle).

I want to try and be more effective in helping students who are working in groups.

I will start by asking students what they did at the weekend.

He didn’t understand what she had said. He hadn’t realised that she was coming. She didn’t recognise the picture he had taken.

By the end of the lesson the students will have a better understanding of typical narrative text structure.
