I was on holiday with friends when I decided to go cycling in the mountains. (where were you/time of year/how did you feel/why?)
We had spent the first few days by the pool, and even though it was summer and too hot to do anything else, I was bored.
Just as we reached the middle of the mountain on our bikes, something terrible happened. (what problem did you have/how did you feel?)
Suddenly, the tire on Jane's bike burst and she couldn't ride it anymore. We then noticed the black clouds and knew we didn't have time to walk back.
We were running down the mountain, when it started to rain. "Oh, no." We thought. "We're going to get soaked!" (how did you solve the problem?)
Thankfully, we found a little house and went inside. There was an old lady who offered us tea. We had a great time waiting for the rain to pass.
I wasn't having a good time so I left ______ I could.
