Impressionism: An artistic movement that began in France in about 1870 in wich painters attempted to create impressions of scenes, objects and people rather than exact likenesses.

Abstract: Art that involves shapes and colors and not images of real people or things.

Cubism: A style of art that originated in the eaaarly twentieth century in which objects are shown as geometric shapes.
