Advice is the noun. To advise is the verb.

If you lose something, you can't find it. Loose is the opposite of 'tight

A cushion is quite colourful and normally found on armchairs, sofas, etc. A pillow is normally found on a bed.

A foreigner is someone from a different country to your own. A stranger is any person you don't know.

Economic is an adjective which means 'to do with the economy'. If something is economical it saves you money in some way by using less energy, petrol, etc.

You use a recipe when you cook. You are given a receipt when you buy something from a shop.

To remember is to recall from your memory. To remind is to tell someone to remember something.

Your shadow is the dark shape that appears behind you (or trees, buildings, etc.) when the sun is shining. Shade is the opposite of direct sunlight.

If something fits it is the right size. If something suits you it looks good on you.

To take an exam means to physically do the exam. At this stage you don't know if you have passed or failed. To pass an exam means that you are successful.

When you learn you receive information. When you teach you give information out to someone else.

Beside means 'next to'. Besides means 'apart from'.

Sensible means 'showing good sense'. Sensitive means that you are easily offended.
