I asked Allison, "Have you ever heard of the Backstreet Boys? They were my favorite boy band growing up." She replied, "No, but that name rings a bell."

Right before Allison entered into the baking competition Daniel said, "I just know your cake is going to win the competition. Break a leg out there Allison!"

My teacher assigned us homework, but forgot to give us the worksheet when we left. The next day she realized her mistake and told the class, "Okay everyone, you're off the hook for last night's homework, but considered it a one time thing."

Allison heard her brother tell her friends an embarrassing story about Allison at the birthday party. She was so upset with him, she gave him the cold shoulder for the rest of the night.

Allison was throwing a party for her friend Daniel. She sent out invites that said, "Surprise party this weekend. Daniel doesn't know so don't let the cat out of the bag before then!"

This iPad has been so fun to use since I bought it. The only downside was this thing cost an arm and a leg.

Luis stayed up all night writing the latest article for the front page. He worked on it all day and into the night. His friends saw him working and said, "Luis, you've been working nonstop. I think it's time you called it a day."

When Luis was driving to school, he noticed a driver that kept switching lanes no matter who was in the lane. That driver was a real road hog.

Daniel had an article due, finals coming up, a birthday party to attend, and a 5 page paper due this week. When his friends asked him if he wanted to join the cooking competition, he replied, "I can't, I've got bigger fish to fry."

Allison sat down in class, and had a serious face. She looked deep in thought. Her teacher asked, "A penny for your thoughts?"

After forgetting his textbook for the 10th time, Luis's teacher said, "I remind you everyday to bring your book. I feel like what I tell you goes in one ear and out the other."

Luis said, "I don't like eating fast food because of how expensive it is. I only go out to eat once in a blue moon."

Allison had to let her boss know she was quitting her job this week. She went into her boss's office and didn't beat around the bush, she told her right away she was quitting.
