Try to stand (or sit) up straight, but look relaxed. Don’t bend your back or lean on one leg.

If you don’t stand straight, people may think you are upset or bored and may not listen.

Volume, speed and intonation. Try to speak slower and louder than normal when presenting. Stress important words. For example, “It was the tallest building in the world”. Move your mouth more than normal to make the sounds. Speak clearly.

Look at others while you are speaking. Look at one person for a few seconds then another person.

How you move your hands while talking. Your hands help to communicate your ideas. Use them when you are talking.

It really helps people understand you. If you move your mouth and face more when speaking English, it is great for your pronunciation too.

Different cultures use hand movements in different ways. In English they are very important, especially for presentations. People will be more interested in what you say. Try to feel more comfortable about using your hands.

When speaking English, if you don’t look at the audience, people may think you are rude.

Try to use all of your body, but most of all your face, to show what you want to say. Smile, make your face show your feelings (more than normal) when presenting.

It is necessary for developing natural English speaking skills.

It shows that you are interested in the audience and shows respect. It helps people understand that you want them to pay attention.
