8th Circle – Heresy – One of the worst sins you can do is go against God. Mike is an atheist and is being punished by seeing his daughter die again.

3rd Circle – Violence – In the poem it’s actually more complex and I just phoned this in. Probably no deeper meaning.

6th Circle (9th actually) – Treachery – is reserved for people who lie and betray and are frozen for eternity. Mike’s doppelganger is tricking his wife

2nd Circle Greed – Mike wanted this room and even after getting hurt, still refuses to leave.

4th circle – Lust- in the poem, sinners are punished by dealing with strong winds for all eternity. Mike faces a similar challenge when he is outside.

9th Circle – Wrath – Mike get’s angry when the room threatens his wife.

5th Circle – Mike is crawling in filth much like the sinners in the poem. He also has to witness his past mistakes.
